"Doors" on it, but I suspect it's Knoppix. It's years old. That Ubuntu you lienkd to looks pretty slick; but I don't fancy recompiling the kernel every time I add or change a piece of hardware. Or other tinkery things that I've heard about Linux. I wouldn't own an English car, because I don't want to spend my time tinkering with it, I just want it to work. Likewise the computer. Just a cranky old cuss who likes what he knows (sort of like "knows what he likes," but different).I don't usually post on computer stuff, but for a little while this post was the only one on the front page of the Google search for "Windows update trouble" that dealt with this issue, and I thought I should keep it updated till the issue was resolved. Why would Microsoft create their own tsfnraer protocol, MTP, and then not use it for Zune, and then use something even worse for Windows Phone? I guess it's possible that Microsoft could roll out a driver update that makes Windows Phone at least act sort of like a normal drive, like MTP devices do in Windows. I'm sure that's yet another feature that will be coming at some unspecified time in the future. I hope Windows Phone support is at least coming to Xbox as part of the big fall update that will also bring Kinect.Paul, have you gotten ANY indication from Microsoft when the future will happen? Even with the limitations, I'd consider buying a Windows Phone on day one, if there were some indication that a fairly substantial update was coming in 3-4 months. Got it fixed. Yes, it was the Dbase permissions setgints. Also read the manual and got the Access Dbase protected by giving it a unique name and the *.mdb a unique name. I know one guy who went to one of those dictatorship-country-places (I forget which one) on a work-thing. He and his friends were out getting smashed, and on their way back to the hotel, they spotted some soldiers standing by a truck, wearing sunglasses (the solders, not the truck. It's completely dumbass to stick a pair of sunglasses on a truck in the middle of the night). He thought they looked so dumb in their sunglasses at 1am, that he decided to creep up behind the truck, jump out and yell "boo". He's lucky he didn't get shot. Lol.

Content is I just can't bring myself to say it.This is what I value most about nwpspaeer stories/columns: they have earned general trust over years by adhering to strict guidelines of accountability. Anomalies aside, when I read something from a nwpspaeer on/offline the baseline of trust that I have in the content is at a higher level, significantly higher level, than from other sources. I don't care if my nwpspaeer brought me the story faster than anyone else, I care that the news is as authoritative and accurate as can be.Give me insight and accuracy, newsman, and I'm happy.As far as the pricing for Ads goes, that's going to me out of line until Advertisers come to grips with proper metrics. Speaking from one Agency man's point of view, judging solely by clicks or impressions is folly. I value impressions more than clicks, but measuring contextual engagement is a more appropriate measurement goal.
